Phil Hamelin, Director of Sales and Marketing at FoxMind, explained, “Being named to the Dr. Toy Top Games list is further validation of FoxMind’s mission to publish fun and innovative games. Maze Racers is a highly original game where players not only get to build 3D mazes but also swap maze boards and race their opponent’s creation.”

“The response we’ve received for Maze Racers has been unmatched. It is so unique that we’ve had lines of people waiting to try out the game at GenCon, Essen, ConnectiCon and every other Fair, where we’ve shown the game,” Hamelin added

The story behind Maze Racers is a very interesting one. Andy Geremia, the inventor, entered his maze race concept, in which children glued cut up straws inside of cereal boxes to create their mazes, in the BigLeap.org Games That Make You Smarter Challenge. The contest was judged by childhood learning experts and game designers. Seeing how the game, not only developed creativity and planning, but also dexterity and hand-eye coordination, the judges awarded the Grand Prize to The Cereal Box Maze game! Soon after, Geremia was working closely with the FoxMind team to develop Maze Racers.

To play Maze Racers (MSRP $40, for 2-4 players ages 8 and up), each player (or team) uses the enclosed magnetic walls to build the most wicked maze they can that will leave their opponent scrambling to find their way out. Maze Racers is also a race against time as from the moment a player has finished their maze, the opponent is left with one minute to finish theirs. When the time is up, both sides swap their maze boards and a furious race starts! By tilting their board, each player steers a ball through the maze as quick as they can in an effort to complete it first. Maze Racers can be played in rounds so that the fastest in 2 of 3 rounds can claim victory!
